Grand Mountain Rides started as an idea in early 2019 by husband and wife team Michael Brown and Sarah Mason. The idea was based purely out of community need and a passion for driving. With the largest county in the state of Colorado having only one main option for semi-reliable travel, we felt the Community was in desperate need of a better way to travel. Having originally thought we would offer a type of rideshare, the original Business Plan has changed drastically over the last 4 years. The main reason we moved away from becoming a TNC(Rideshare) company was how difficult, if not impossible it is to get a TNC permit to operate. For those reasons, we decided to acquire our permit to operate as a Luxury Limo. Having built our company for nearly a year, on the 14th of January 2020 we received our permit and started with one vehicle. Then less then three months later in March of 2020, nearly the whole country was shut down and we found ourselves in the fight of our lifetime, one we could have never seen coming, and our entire investment on the line. We never bought into the idea of failure, and knew if we could just remain focused, that we would find a way to weather the storm. From the beginning we always offered fairly priced rides, 24 hours a day, in clean, luxury class vehicles. We also pride ourselves on giving 5 star service on every ride, with every passenger. This quality has allowed us to go from 1 to 6 vehicles during our first 3 years, refusing to use COVID as an excuse for failure.
On the 13th of January, 2023 we put in an application to expand our permit. This was for us to be able to offer per person shuttle rides from East Grand County(Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake) to Denver(Colorado Mills(Lakewood), Denver International Airport(DEN), Airport Hotels). Although Home James, the only company currently allowed to offer a similar service attempted to block our expansion, thanks to the great support of the community, we were able to secure the required permit on the 1st of February, 2023. This allowed us to give our first shared, shuttle rides on the 3rd of February, 2023. The current permit is temporary and allows us to operate for 180 days. Given the communities continuous support, we strongly believe we will be issued Permanent Authority. If you would like to help ensure we get issued Permanent Authority, please click below and someone will reach out shortly. Thank you for everyone's continued support.
